The darkness of Struggle

I saw a light. A light.
Light it was – unusual, un-lightly;
My eyes couldn’t see,
My heart could feel,
My mind could rejoice,
And soul was illuminated.
Light it was – not a jumble of photons,
But a waltz of words, whose vibe
Permeated all boundaries,
Sunk all resistance. But light
Couldn’t exist without a shadow:
Grave it was, deep and gloomy,
All that is dark merging into one,
Encompassing the umbra and penumbra;
Even light couldn’t ward it off.
For they co-existed. And a fearful
Combination they made, ever so likeable –
Light and dark – their directions were all,
And they created, and they destroyed;
The cycle uninterrupted…
